Follow the foot steps of the zen Buddhist monk, Ryoukan
Ryoukan the zen Buddhist monk, poet and calligrapher visited Sanjo city many times to go about asking for alms. There are many anecdotes of Ryoukan's religious mendicancy in Sanjo.
The "Path of Ryoukan" weaves through Sanjo city to monuments of Ryoukan's poems and to sites where Ryoukan had deep ties. The path goes through the Hachimangu shrine and points out most of the 12 significant sites related to Ryoukan.
The wisdom and soul of Ryoukan can be heard transcending through time while on this path.
