HOME > Guide to Living in Sanjo > City Profile
Located in the heart of Niigata Prefecture, Sanjo City is roughly a two hour bullet train ride from Tokyo. Blessed with four seasons and beautiful water and air, it is an ideal location to grow rice. Sanjo is also famous for it's metal industry and has a long tradition dating back to the Edo period. Recently amalgamated with Sakae Town and Shitada Village, you can enjoy both a modern city and also the beautiful mountains of the Shitada region. We welcome you to Sanjo and hope that you too will want Sanjo to be your home.
The location is derived from the location of the Sanjo City Office
