Akasaka Historic Battlefield

 Akasaka Pass is the location of one of the hard-fought battles which took place during the Boshin war. The Boshin war is an important part of the Meiji Restoration which took place over 100 years ago. Between the Tokugawa Shogunate and the Imperial faction, it is said that there were over 500 casualties during the Akasaka battle.

Where: Komagomi, Sanjo
Access: Vehicle:  Approximately a 40min drive from the Sanjo-Tsubame Inter-Change (Hokuriku Expressway).
